Hoya macrophylla (Hoya latifolia) 'Pot of Gold'
Hoya Macrophylla Albomarginata is also known as Hoya Latifolia. There is a lot of debate around the name; for now, we will call it by the name many of you have come to know it by.
Hoya 'Pot of Gold' is a unique and rare variety because the variegation is on the inside and not the outside like the 'Albo Marginata.' The variegation is also greener and not as white.
It is an epiphytic , climbing Hoya with fragrant and beautiful blooms (not sold with blooms). Hoya macrophylla is an uncommon Hoya with large, textured leaves whose margins are variegated with swatches of creamy white and pink. As the plant matures it produces clusters of beautiful cream star shaped flowers (this could take a year or several years depending on the environment.)
- Light: Bright, indirect light (careful to not place in direct sun)
- Water: Water when potting medium drires about an inch, can keep slightly more moist than other Hoyas, but be careful to not overwater
- Potting medium: Use a well-draining potting medium
- Fertilizer: Spring through fall with a slow-release or houseplant fertilizer. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions.
